{love}

the older i get and the more weddings i attend, i feel my understanding of the concept of love grows stronger. the more i experience this life, the more i learn about the true meaning of love. the undeserved & unconditional love that has so graciously been poured out on me by my Creator and the love i receive from the amazing family & friends he has placed in my life just blows me away!
{my favorite picture that i took from the wedding weekend}

"love is patient, love is kind.
it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
it is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
it always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails."

the definition and idea of love that i once thought i understood as a young girl is growing into a much deeper understanding. 1 corinthians 13:4-8 is the definition of love that i believe in. this is the "love" that i want to surround me, consume me, and exude from me. this is the Love i know and have received from a God who has extended grace to all of my short comings & the only One who makes this type of Love possible. what an amazing gift & even better is that once you have it... you can't help but give it away!

I love this post.
And I have to say that it's SO true!
It makes me think of my sister, who didn't meet her hubby until she was 29 and I remember almost ALL through her 20's she was so bummed that all of her siblings were married and having kids.
My sister has always been such a kind, loving, supportive sister and friend. We all never understood why things didn't work out for her, sooner then they did.

Now that she's married and so incredibly happy... she told me the other day, that there is NO way she would have been ready for all this love that she's experiencing, from a man, if things would have worked out on HER timeline.
She's gone through some tough body image issues, and finally won her battle with that about a year before she met her hubby.

It's so hard to see the blessings of waiting, when your the one who has to be patient.

But I have to say, for my sister, AND for me, in aspects of my life... that everything happens... when it should, and our Heavenly Father wants nothing but the best for us. Because HE loves us more then we can EVEN imagine!

Thanks for this post.
