left eyes, familia, & easter beagles

recently while i was taking pictures a friend said "you use your left eye?"  in a tone that someone might use if i had four heads.  honestly i'd never really thought about it.  i'm right handed, but is it weird that i use my left eye?  i have no idea.  thoughts?  thanks to my sister taking my picture yesterday during our easter festivities i was able to see my left eye photo skills in action.

speaking of Easter, what a beautiful weekend we had here in NC to celebrate the new life we have in Christ!  He is risen and I'm thankful for that!  my dad was able to practice his photog skills yesterday when we asked him to take this lovely shot of 4 generations.  family is a wondeful thing & i wouldn't trade mine for the world!

oh... and lucky for us we got a visit from the easter beagle.  i know you're jealous!

35mm f/1.8 = love

i totally splurged & bought a new lens.

{a 35mm f/1.8 to be exact}

i think i'm in love.  it gives me all that depth of field goodness that makes me drool.

i've been attached to it.  por exemplo (google it)...

my little love.  poor lucy is so over pictures... but she's still so darn cute, so i'll forgive her.

just a little bit of the good stuff to get me going & remind me that life IS good.

...and to remind me it's been too long since i've been to yoga.  must fix that soon.

{4 weeks down... 4 to go}

last night was my 4th week of my 8 week intro to DSLR photography class at the light factory and i'm happy to report i'm officially a photography nerd.  i was so engulfed in class last night with all the details and specifics of my camera, i just couldn't get enough.  from discussing light meters, lighting subjects, to sources of light... my soul was soaring!

i'm feeling so inspired in this chapter of my life and i'm beginning to feel changed.  i can't really explain it, but God is speaking to my soul... a dream is stirring and ideas are emerging.  my passions and genuine love for life is overflowing into every area of my life.  i am trying my best to take steps to absorb it all and to truly be intentional about everything that i'm doing.

i've even been blessed enough already to have been asked to shoot on two different occassions for my church.  i'm totally terrified and completely excited at the same time!

... and i'm so thankful that lucy oblidges to be my most beautiful model!

well my current roommate, has a boxer, & lucy has spent her whole life so far with other dogs. with our current move to our new house, lucy is losing her playmate.

soooo in comes oliver.

i received an email from kate, lucy's breeder, that she previously purchased oliver to add to her breeding clan, but lucy's dad, tucker, picks on little oliver too much & kate said she just can't have a dog living like that so she's needing to sell him.

what to do, what to do?

well... decisions need to be made

some praying needs to be done,

& if all goes well, oliver might be coming to join

our little family on august 7th!!!

gotta love the nikon... & puppies

so i'm in the market for a new camera & my parent's just purchased the nikon d60, so needless to say i was able to get my hands on it the other day for a little bit (thanks mom & dad) & did a little photo shoot of the puppies playing.  i also took a lot of pictures for an upcoming blog about the church i was raised in & it's amazing architecture, heritage, & stunning stained glass windows.

until then... enjoy these 2 precious pups!!

male pocket beagle for sale!

back so soon, i know... but i just got an email from lucy's breeder that she is looking for a good home for a little male she has that they are unable to keep.  he is absolutely beautiful & i'm soooo tempted to buy him myself, but i just don't have the place for him right now.  here are a few pictures of him.  he is 1 week older that lucy, meaning he was born the last week of december & he's about 11 lbs & only about 8' tall.  he's completely potty trained, is good on the leash, & loves to play fetch outside.  i'm in love with this little guy.  if you're interested please feel free to leave me a comment with your email address & i'll contact you or you can contact metro pocke
