{inspiration + creating = joy}

i love to create.

i love to be inspired.

i love to make things.

chalkboard paint is my weakness.

i long to have my own little workshop filled with tools (a girl can dream, right?)

so i can cut, build, paint, draw, design... the list goes on and on.

remember that dream of making my own furniture??

it WILL happen one day.

creating brings me joy, so i'm a little excited about a few projects i'm

dreaming up for the holidays thanks to these pinterest inspirations!

i REALLY want to do a wall in my bedroom like the one shown below.

fingers crossed i can make that happen in the next few months!

{merry.christmas.2010...video style}

Merry Christmas friends!  It's a white and snowy one here in NC the day after and we are loving it!   I decided on Christmas Eve after talking with some friends early in the week, that it was silly that I didn't know how to use the video capabilities of my radtastic camera so after a little practicing around the house, I spent the day yesterday taking some video of our Christmas day and capturing everything I love about the day.  Then taught myself how to use iMovie today to edit it... and for my first try I have to say that I LOVE how it turned out!!

{enjoy}

{merry christmas}

there's not much sweeter than the Christmas story being told in the words of children.

and it doesn't hurt that they have AWESOME accents...

{MERRY CHRISTMAS}

{merry christmas from my house to yours}

i finally got my house all nice and decorated for Christmas and thought i'd

share some of what i get to come home to everyday.  i love Christmas time!!

 yep... that's a lovely little joy's hope sign hanging out on my mantel :)

lovely Christmas and holiday cards on my pantry from great friends and family!

 my view from the kitchen sink... it makes washing dishes much more enjoyable

 me and niece #1 finally made the wall decor!

a few ornaments from my yummy smelling Christmas tree...

 if you haven't seen this movie, it's a GREAT one to sit down and

watch this Christmas season to see the Christmas story come to life.

{it's beginning to sound a lot like christmas}

yep.  i've been listening to Christmas music.  i'm not overdoing it, but when this album from dave barnes came out this past tuesday, i couldn't give up the opportunity to induldge.  i mean it's dave barnes + christmas music... HELLO?!? ... this album is G double O D...  GOOD!  click here to get it for $6.99 on itunes.  now that's a good deal.

i've decided that i'm definitely a traditional Christmas music type of girl, but an absolute sucker for a little jazzy, country, soulful Christmas music. do you like that description?

 there's something about the soul of the holiday that just requires some good ol' sound.  this is another album that i found that would fall into that category with dave's... "a neighborly Christmas" by none other than drew holcomb and the neighbors.
