sweet soul music

some new tunes i've been checking out the last week are by the lovely french-american singer, madeline peyroux . thanks to pandora.com, i was able to discover this sweet, soulful music. she has such a classic old-school voice that i love & it totally reminds me of the sounds of billie holiday or nina simone. you can either check it out here on myspace or here at itunes.

a few of my favorites are blue alert, weary blues, hey sweet man, dance me to the end of love, and i LOVE her version of muddy water. here's a mixtape of some of these songs & a few others.

makes me long for the upcoming fall days, a good cup of coffee, clear blue mountain skies, & a blanket to enjoy it all.

check her out!
