meet my beautiful friend wynne elder.

i had the pleasure of meeting wynne in dallas, tx in 2010 at the love affair photography workshop.  wynne is one of the most fun, loving beautiful souls i've met.  she's a photographer, Jesus lover, loves all things camp, and she has a heart for africa and orphans that is SO inspiring!!  i would be lying if i said i wasn't jealous of the fact that she went to africa 3 TIMES last year. i digress...  ;)

when i think of people that leak Jesus to all those around her, wynne is definitely on that list.  joy simply flows from her being.

wynne and her husband have decided to adopt their first child from africa, who they've already named camp elder after their love of camp, and we have a chance to help!  

let's face it...  the reality is that the cost of adoption is very expensive and not everyone is called to it, but why not help out the ones who do feel called and are willing to say "yes"???

{the gertigs}

a few weeks ago i got the opportunity to head down to SC to take some pictures of my sweet friends, the gertigs.  amanda just wanted some pictures of the two of them and i was so excited she asked me to do the honors!  our location for the afternoon was andrew's family's home.  it was such a beautiful place that held so much family history and fun, not to mention it's smack dab in a ton of land that looks as if you're in the mountains, not an hour south of charlotte, nc.

we spent the day walking around the land grabbing some shots and chatting it up.  it was so fun for me to see them in a place that you can tell means a lot them and the two of them just loving on each other.  they share such a sweet love and i was glad i was able to glimpse of that with my camera.  amanda is a part of my church lifegroup now and is such a sweet, fun loving lady and you can tell andrew just adores that about her. her caring and nurturing nature just emits from her and i love that about her!  andrew and i share a love of all things social media/computers and had a blast chatting about that. after our shoot they even invited me to stay for an awesome dinner as we enjoyed the breathtaking sunset on the back porch.  i love this job!

{Love Affair 2010 - Model Shoot - Jamie & Eric}

i had the wonderful priviledge of shooting the gorgeous jamie & her charming husband eric during our group model shoot at love affair.  our group had a great time chatting and scurrying around downtown dallas trying to find some spots to shoot with these two.  based off of jamie & eric's styled look we decided to go for country meets city and i think we succeeded.  it was also a great learning experience for me with taking what you have to work with and being creative on the fly!  here are my favorite shots from the day!

and now onto the parking deck adventure.  this was eric's first time modeling, but i think he could pull it off, don't you?  they were both fantastic!

...and maybe i went a little out of my norm and went for something a little more different on this next shot.  sexy, moody, mysterious...  this was the shot i submitted for our critique.  it was good for me to get out of my comfort zone though and do something i wouldn't normally do.  looking at it now, those pillows in the back are driving me cuh-razy.  next time i'll make sure i straighten out.  nitpicky?  yes!

so taking pictures during trampoline adventures proved a little more challenging than i expected, but we still had a blast with the shoot i did for my friends catherine & micah.

they had lots of giggles while trying to get in sync while jumping and i think this picture below captures the fun love that these two share just perfectly.  i've known catherine since high school and i just love seeing her happy and married to such a great guy.  micah has a way of making her laugh that just by watching, makes me laugh
